My name is Kasper, and I am currently a Ph.D student at Aalborg University.
I am specializing in participatory design and co-creation of digitial visualization approaches to enable situated management of indigenous knowledge.
I am privileged with a job where I can aid in solving a current problem of un-transferred indigenous knowledge between groups in Namibia (Africa), while personally learning and be inspired by the same people through collaboration and friendships.
The projects I have developed academically or commercially have all been colored by creativity and the realization and maturation of ideas into iterative design prototypes, product implementation, contextual testing and documentation. The method of working as a team is for me a great motivational factor to accomplish set objectives, and something I have large experience in from an academic context. A majority of my master projects have attracted public and press interest due to their innovative use of visualized media, technological progress and commercial collaborations. To understand the potential of these products I have taken courses in entrepreneurship & innovation, because I find it necessary to design for and understand the market context. Besides academia I have used my technical and graphical skills to supplement my congenital needs to be creative by designing books, albums, webpages, exhibiting large canvas prints and guiding others to explore their creativity.
I invite you to explore my homepage for detailed information, publications, playable prototypes, videos and pictures on my academic as well as my freelance projects.
I am also responsible for www.IndiKnowTech.org, which acts as an umbrella portal for different slices of the project I am currently involved with in Namibia.
Best regards
- Kasper Rodil
